教育孩子是学校和家庭共同的使命，只有学校与家长们共同担负起培养孩子的责任，才有可能培养出真正具有“中国灵魂 国际情怀”的下一代。

It is a shared responsibility for schools and families to educate a child. Only when these two sides shoulder the same education responsibilities can we cultivate our future generations with real Chinese identity and international mindedness.

苏城外国语学校从开学初就开始了各班家委会的筹划组建工作。经过一个多月的筹备，10月18日，第三届校级家委会竞选的号角终于嘹亮吹响。

Since the beginning of the new semester, Soochow Foreign Language School has been planning on the construction of Parent Committee of each class. After preparing for over a month, the 3rd School-level Parent Committee member election finally took place on 18th October. 

总校长李春雷先生、副校长杨瑛女士、副校长李方华先生、校长助理魏吉平先生、教师代表戴康及家长代表杨亚梅，全校中层及以上干部、部分教师代表、各学部家委会成员共同出席了本次大会。

Present at this conference were General Principal Mr. David Li, Vice Principal Ms. Chloe Yang, Vice Principal Mr. William Wei, teacher representative Mr. Damon Dai, parent representative Ms. Yang Yamei, school-wide middle level administrators, some teacher representatives, and Parent Committee members of each division. 

副校长杨瑛女士主持会议，并回顾了往届家校共建工作。苏城外国语学校首届校级家委会创办于2018年3月，至今已历经两届，各成员通力合作，尽心尽责，建立起联系学校、家长以及社会的桥梁。这一年多的时间，在两届家委会以及全体家长的支持与帮助下，苏城外度过了意义非凡的初创期，巩固期，与家长们共同见证孩子的成长与发展。

Being the host of this conference, Vice Principal Ms. Chloe Yang reviewed the development of our Parent Committee for these years. It was in March 2018 that the first SCFLS Parent Committee was established. Till now, it has been two years. All committee members work closely and devotedly to try to build a bridge among the school, parents and the society as a whole. Under the support and help from the Parent Committee and all parents, SCFLS has undergone the year of foundation and consolidation, witnessing the growth and development of all children together with our parents.

In SCFLS, we have more than one student from the same family, which reflects parents’ trust and recognition towards the school and the IB educational philosophy.

总校长表示，家校共育不仅要理念相通，一脉相承，更要落到一体化设计中来。IB非常强调学习社区的概念，要建立所有利益相关者之间的伙伴关系，通过这些伙伴关系，发展和支持共同的愿景、使命、信念和价值观。恳切希望本届家委会能够形成一股合力，传达两方声音，协同全体家长，凝聚共识，勤勉工作，积极参与，确保家校间的沟通更加畅顺，配合更加默契，更好地发挥学校、家庭一体化的教育功能！

In his speech, David Li stressed that not only should the educational philosophy of family-school education remain consecutive, but should be implemented coherently. It is strongly emphasized by IB that we should build the learner community with all stakeholders being taken into consideration, through which we can develop and support our shared vision, mission, belief and values. It is sincerely hoped that the Parent Committee could unite as a whole to be a bridge between families and the school. Therefore, a better communication between families and the school can be ensured to have better cooperation, and take better advantage of the education function of the school and families through assisting all parents with hard work and active participation.

与志同道合者同行。

Work with the excellent, with those who respect differentiation, and with the like-minded people.

竞选者都是来自各学部家委的骨干成员，看得出，大家为了此次竞选可谓八仙过海各显神通。名校硕士毕业、留学海归都不在话下，“责任心强”、“十多年团队管理经验”、“协同意识”、“公益组织常务委员”等通通都是加分项。

All candidates are backbone members from the Parent Committee of each division. It is quite obvious that they’ve made full preparations and showed all their talents for this competition.

Attentive with own judgments 

情真意切的演说，诚恳坦然的交流，对孩子美好未来的期待，对学校美好前程的憧憬，赢得了现场老师和家长代表们阵阵热烈的掌声。演讲结束后，大家都投下了自己神圣的信任之票。

The passionate speeches, sincere communications and great expectations won warm applause from the teachers and parent representatives present. After all the speeches, everyone present voted for their favorite candidate.

家委会工作是一根沉甸甸的接力棒，是全心全意为班级孩子所做的服务，是只讲奉献不求回报的无私无畏的付出，是实现家校携手、共育新苗的坚实后盾。秉承公平公正的原则，在监督委员会的见证下，来自小学部的李雪崧女士以最高票数成功竞选为第三届校级家委会会长！

The responsibilities of Parent Committee require whole-hearted and selfless devotion to all children, the classes and the school. It acts as the steadfast supporter for promoting family-school education, and guarantees the development of children. With the presence of the supervisory committee, Ms. Li Xuesong was successfully elected as the Director of the 3rd School-level Parent Committee.
