As an international school, Soochow Foreign Language School advocates “Inclusive Holistic” education. 开设科目有：学术英语（听说、读写、学科英语）、剑桥数学、IB学习法。

本课程的重点是培养学生语言习得能力和英语听说能力。其着重强调口头交流，听力理解和词汇的扩充。听说练习也能提升学生对跨文化的理解，让学生可以在不同的情境下，以及出于不同的交际目的，灵活使用自己所学的知识。从而可以将他们培养成为积极进取，富有同情心，且有着中国灵魂和国际情怀的终身学习者。为进入高中国际课程学科的全英文教学打下基础，同时有利于将来的托福雅思扥英语标准化考试。

This course focuses on cultivating students’ abilities in language acquisition, English listening and speaking, emphasizing oral communication, listening comprehension and vocabulary. The practices in listening and speaking can improve students’ intercultural understanding, thus allowing students to apply their acquired knowledge flexibly under different contexts and for different communicative purposes. Therefore, they could develop into active, compassionate lifelong learners with both Chinese identity and international mindedness. On the other, a solid foundation can be laid for better adapting to the international senior high school courses, and for their TOEFL or IELTS examinations.

本课程的重点是语言习得和英语读写能力的发展。它的目标是培养学生的跨文化理解,让学生理解并在不同环境中，不同目的下使用语言,鼓励学生对来自其他文化的人们不同观点的认识和欣赏,培养学生对于语言在其他领域中运用的意识,培养学生对语言和文化之间关系的认识,通过使用外语为学生提供进一步学习、工作和休闲的基础，通过掌握外语知识为学生提供享受、创造和智力激励的机会。

This course focuses on cultivating students’ abilities in language acquisition, English reading and writing. It aims at developing students’ intercultural understanding, and enabling students to understand and use language in different context. Students are encouraged to understand and appreciate people’s opinions of different cultures, so as to cultivate their sense of applying language to other areas, and to understand the relationship between language and culture. Through using language for further learning, work and leisure, students could have more opportunities for enjoying, creating and inspiring. 

本课程框架通过调查、技术的有效使用和抽象推理探索了六个内容领域：数字、代数、几何、测量、处理数据和解决问题。

This course explores six areas including number, algebra, geometry, measurement, data analysis, problem solving through inquiry, use of technology and proof. 

前五个内容领域都以解决问题为基础，这为数学技能的应用提供了一个框架。心理策略也是数字内容的重要组成部分。本课程以原理、模式、系统、功能及关系为重点。同时，当学生解决多步骤问题时，他们也将进行数学推理和思维交流。因此学生能够运用数学知识，从而全面了解数学。强调对国际高中课程所需的初中数学开展查漏补缺，同时衔接国际高中数学。

The first five areas are based on solving problems, which provides a framework for the application of Maths skills. Psychological strategy is also an important component of numbers. This course focuses on principle, mode, system, function and relation. Meanwhile, the students will have Maths deduction and communication in thinking while solving problems. Therefore, students could apply the knowledge to understand Maths comprehensively. It emphasizes to learn about the strengths and weaknesses of what the students have already learned, so that they could have a smooth transition to the Maths class in international senior high school.

  拓展课程/活动  

戏剧、钢琴、全球视野、陶艺、英文配音、篮球/羽毛球等，学生五选一，拓展课程和活动都放在晚间进行，另行组织。

Activities: Drama, Piano, Global Perspectives, Pottery, Dubbing, Basketball/Badminton, etc. The students could choose one activity from the above, and all activities will held separately during the evenings.
