本轮探究超学科主题——世界如何运作
Transdisciplinary theme——How the world works

“世界如何运作”这个单元的学习需要孩子探究自然界以及自然规律、自然界(物质的和生物)的和人类社会的互动、人类如何利用他们对科学原理的理解以及科技进步对社会和环境的影响。本轮探究围绕“建筑的设计受环境和文化的影响”这一中心思想展开,在“形式、连系、变化”重要概念的驱动下,依据3条线索依次展开了连续5周的探究活动!
How the world works is an inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment. The central idea of this unit is “The design and structure of architecture is influenced by environment and culture.”Driven by the key concepts “Form, Connection, Change”, students carry out different learning activities based on three lines of inquiry in 5 weeks.


影响建筑设计的因素
The causes that influence the design of architecture
一年级的孩子虽然识字不多,但是他们都是天生的探究者,对周围的事物充满好奇。他们充分利用了各种图形、符号画出了自己对建筑的理解,通过小组合作的形式积累认知,了解到了自然、文化都会对建筑的设计产生影响。
As Year 1 students, their reading and writing abilities may be limited but they’re natural inquirers who are curious about everything around them. They make good use of shapes and drawings to express architectures they know and develop their understanding that the design of architecture is influenced by both natural and cultural causes.



建筑物和当地环境的关系
The relationship between the architecture and local environment
当孩子们对建筑物有了初步的了解之后,开始了深入探究之旅。大家根据自己的兴趣参与到不同的探究主题,在图文并茂的学习中,孩子们一步一个脚印,懂得了不同的环境都会对建筑形态造成影响,并且和自己的小伙伴合作利用图片的形式展现给大家学到的知识。
After learning the different forms of architecture, students probe deep into the relationship between architecture and environment. They take part into different groups based on their interests and strength, and present their discovery to others individually and collectively.



建筑风格反映当地文化
The style of architecture reflects local culture.
在探究文化对建筑风格的影响时,通过观看视频、搜集材料、外出参观等形式,老师与孩子们一同穿越时空,领略了从远古至今的各种建筑风格,认识到了多姿多彩的世界文化。通过对建筑文化的理解与感受,培养了学生的多元文化意识,使他们逐步成长为具有国际情怀的世界公民。
When inquiry into cultural influence on architecture, students and teachers discover the variety and colorful culture that architecture reflects through time and space. By understanding and experiencing the diversity of architecture, students develop their intercultural awareness and become a world citizen with international mindedness.

9月26日,迎着明媚的阳光,孩子们走出教室,背上书包来到了“华谊兄弟电影世界”。
On 26, Sep, students took a field trip to Huayi Brothers Film World.
孩子们实地参观了不同时代、不同风格的建筑,还观看了文化内涵丰富的各类演出,对建筑和环境的关系也有了更深刻的认识。
They visited different types of architecture and watched brilliant performances.
在外出探究参观时,孩子们能自发地采取行动,做到文明有序参观,理解和尊重各类建筑所代表的文化,展现出了积极探究、胸襟开阔的IB学习者风采。
Students can follow the rules and respect the culture of architecture during the tour, representing the attributes of an IB learner at all time.
