近日，苏城外国语学校中学部学生会换届选举活动在中学部演播大厅如期举行。

Recently, SCFLS Middle School held the Student Union election in the Auditorium.

此次竞选活动通知发布之后，初中各年级积极号召同学参与竞选活动。参选的同学不仅认真填写了竞选表格，还认真准备了竞选演讲和才艺展示。

Once the announced was released, teachers of all grades actively organised students to participate in the election. Not only did the candidates fill out the form, but also carefully prepared their speeches and talent shows.

本次竞选方式是按照年级组的顺序进行。

This election was carried out in the order of grade groups, starting with the ninth graders, followed by the eighth and seventh graders.

竞选者们需要在2分钟之内进行自我及竞选职位的介绍，如果有才艺，也要在2分钟之内完成。

Part one is prepared speech, every contestant has 2 minutes to deliver their speech about self-introduction and the position they will run for. If the contestants have talent shows, they need to perform within 2 minutes. 

来自八年级6班的胡可涵学生，用全英文发表演讲，口齿清晰，谈吐大方，赢得了现场的阵阵掌声，令人为之赞叹。

Hu Kehan from Class 6 Year 8 made a speech in English, which earned great applause among all audience.

竞选演讲环节对刚步入新学校的七年级学生来说“压力山大”；但是青涩难掩自信，孩子们出色地完成了升入中学后的首次登台表演。

It is stressful for Year 7 students since they are new students here. However, the first performances from Year 7 contestants were brilliantly done.

综合候选人的意向，候选人被分为5组，由评委老师随机出题，候选人依次作答，每人作答时间依旧不得超过两分钟，过程中评委老师不作点评。

这个环节完全可以看出竞选者的综合能力，也是评委老师权衡利弊的重要一环。

Part two is a two-minute defense. The candidates were divided into five groups according to their own will. Judges will choose questions randomly and ask candidates to answer in two minutes. Contestants’ competence will be revealed in this part and it is an important reference for judges to give evaluation on these candidates. Every student had their own unique performances.

The chairman of Student Union, Catherine Chen asked some questions for candidates in order to test their abilities of dealing with problems, as well as handling some predicaments.

活动现场，播音主持部的竞争非常激烈。一段段诘屈聱牙的绕口令将现场气氛推向高潮。

The competition was quite fierce for the positions of the broadcasting and hosting division. After reading a few tongue twisters, some candidates stood out in the competition.

经评委老师们的现场评分，同时参考参选学生的意向岗位，经过团委决定，最终以下学生成功入选！

The Youth Committee has decided that the following students successfully joined the Student Union after considering the judges’ evaluation and contestants’ preferences.
